What is Your Path? Wiccan

About Me I consider myself a solitary Wiccan with eclectic taste. I am a recovering Catholic who has been practising for about 20 years now, ever since I picked up a copy of Cunningham's Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner. It was then that I realized what I'd been looking for all my life. I own a Pagan store, Witchy Wearables, in Midlothian, IL with my partner of 30+ years, Kate. I have a BA in English, that I proudly got when I was 50; I have read Tarot since I was 18; and I am second level Reiki, expecting to get my Master-level this Spring.

Music I love most music, except rap and techno, but am especially fond of folk and filk. I also love music from the 60s and early 70s (before disco!).

Movies So many...especially fantasy stuff. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, all the Harry Potters, Practical Magic, etc., etc, etc. I wish they'd do a movie of Wicked!!

TV I love the supernatural stuff, like Medium, Ghost Hunters, Charmed, Buffy, etc., but I really love to watch C.S.I, C.S.I. Miami, the Law & Orders, Crossing Jordan and those sorts of shows. I also love the Food Channel and wish someone would pitch a Kitchen Witch show. I wanted to do it but I wouldn't be good in front of the cameras and my cooking skills aren't up to their standards.

Books I just finished devouring Laurrel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series and I'm getting ready to start on her series about the Sidhe. I love anything by Mercedes Lackey and J.K. Rowling. I also love mysteries, especially the genre known as Cozies. As an English major, I also love literature, especially 19th century stuff and poetry. I just love to read.

Likes Cats, violets, chocolate, the Craft, good people, teaching, helping people, my family, my friends and so many other things.

Dislikes Dishonest people, people with ego problems who think they're all that, people who abuse people or animals. Bitter cold weather and very hot weather

Hobbies Reading, cooking, baking, writing

Vices Chocolate and sweets in general. Being too nice and not knowing how to say no to people.

Virtues I give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm nice to most people and polite to everyone. I believe that love is the answer.

Heroes Putting people on a pedestal is a dangerous thing and can get you hurt when they fall off. But I worship Scott Cunningham, Goddess rest his soul.

Merry Meet!

I signed up about a week ago but I'm just getting the hang of this. I wrote a blog over the weekend and thought I posted it but I guess it didn't post. Maybe I pushed the wrong button and signed off too soon.

I'm looking forward to visiting with old friends and making new ones on this site. It looks like fun.

My partner, Kate, & I own a small pagan store in Midlothian, IL called Witchy Wearables. We opened in October of 2003 after we lost our jobs to a corporate buyout. We're doing okay thanks to wonderful friends and customers. I think 2007 is really going to be our year, though!!

I'm a Tarot reader and I teach classes in Wicca 101, Tarot, Wanding, Fairies and other topics at the shop. Some of our other reader/teachers have pages here on Covenspace, too. Check out Purple Feather and Moonfire's spaces.
